Sound is an is an amazing thing .It's all around us,always, constantly feeding into us, vibrating us down to the deepest cellular level as we are entrained by it.Sometimes there are qualities of sound which can “grate” against us and can lead our systems down an inharmonious path.
Imagine living near where the planes take off from an airport or the jackhammer on a busy city street being used by the men in hardhats. How to live with that daily! Yes, we humans can be very adaptable creatures, but how far can the human system adapt to the point where that system rebels by breaking down and gives us the migraine, the tense hunched shoulders, or the bloodshot eyes from lack of sleep.
It’s amazing the range of what sound can effect. Now given the other side of things, the beautiful sound of green grass “singing” after a rainfall,or the deep-throated sound of the Tuva throat singers vibrating and jostling our chakras as we listen to them. What a range and polarity!
In the endless dialogue of daily and nightly sound, right down to our cellular level we are being molded and shape-shiflted for better or for worse ,in sickness or in health. That marriage between us and the vibrations which we take in, steers us in many directions.
I’m thinking that maybe all matter is really a sound which “congeals” and takes a form, which can seem more solid or more invisible as according to how high or low it’s vibratory “song” is. That also says to me that nothing is ever motionless no matter how slow the vibration or how low the song sung.
The stone has it’s quiet low song as much as the bird has it’s own as it sings on the branch of the tree.I think that our Native elders had it right when they taught that all things in this world have a life and a being, the stone, the tree and the wind. Think of how much richer our lives would be if we recognized our bretherin in this way.Would some of us be as lonely as we say we are now if we were to forge a relationship with the stone or the tree and recognize them as sentient beings, hearing our every footstep, sigh or joyous laughter? Why they might have some great wisdom to impart to us in maybe our most difficult of times.
Sound does transport us to other dimensions and states of being. I know when I tone a sound like “OM”, it travels to my first chakra ,through my legs and into the earth, feeling grounded and realizing the true liberation of being in the moment. For me the “AHH” sound opens my heart space creating a warm feeling radiating outwards..
So let us truly find our song inside ,the medicine we need to tone, sing or speak ourselves to a greater awareness and greater communication with each other and the worlds around us
Sometimes i feel a great need to serve, to help others in need. I don't have a large income and if i did i feel i would make use of it some way to come to the aid of others from a financial perspective.
The best I can do is offer prayer for those in a worse situation than myself. The power of prayer is a real tangible thing I feel.I can also volunteer to help the needy.
There are things we can all do to serve and give back to the world, where it is at times crying out for our help. We really are not at a loss to have an efffect in anothers life. Just saying "hello" or " how are you doing" to someone can make a big difference for them. There is nothing little in this life ,but only that which is seen through the lens of a limited mind.Let the heart lead the way because It doesn't compare big or small. It just sees the sincerity behind the action and intent.
So let's give whatever we can.
I am always amazed at natures ability to become so hot and so cold in the way she expresses herself from season to season. Days ago i felt an incomprehensible cold run through my being as I bicycled from my home to get to a train ride in order to get to a job. "How can I stand this", I was thinking as i was going down the road, "will I make it, or will I burst from this freeze before I get there?"It's also a marvel of the human body in it's ability to withstand the extremes of the heat of summer or of the cold of winter.
Nature is an amazing thing. The nature of man and woman is an amazing thing and of all the creatures both great and small.I think that we are all mini systems of nature walking on two four or more legs in this life, built t to sustain and withstand different states of being, different temperatures, moods and cycles.
When we respect nature and it's inhabitants,we are on the road to respecting ourselves as well.
We are the sky,we are the mountains. We are in our dry ,arrid and desert like periods ,as we are also in our moist fertile and green garden periods.
"Oh thank bitter cold for reminding me of the cold and frozen nature of myself and thank you heat for reminding me of my warm ,passionate flowing nature as well"
Let's take care of each other and of the Earth Mother as well.Give a warm hug to someone in the cold and a cool hand to a hot forehead in the heat.Namaste.
When I lie on the earth , with my spine touching her surface, it is really like plugging into an energy connection transfusion. My body settles down gradually into the energetic grid work of the earth mother, sinking in and sinking down into her vibratory rate of healing , receptivity and nurturing, connecting with the spine to recharge the electrical system of my body.
I feel the release of stress leaving my system and as it enters the earth to be transmuted..My sacrum connects and becomes charged with earth energy relaxing tight muscles of the lower back to allow the spine to touch more of the surface gradually.
It is truely a time of connection to the earth within ones self. The earth within and the earth without. All thoughts or beliefs about separation from anything dissolve right then and there and you know that you've plugged into the bigger part of who you really are and the bigger world around you and how the two are truely not different at all .
Surrender your self to the earth and you let go of all the little things that appeared big to you in your moments unconsciousness and illusion.
Hello and Flow,
It's important to not push the river ,but let the river carry you down it's course.Surrender seems like it would be a good thing and it is, but sometimes it can be the hardest state for a person to allow themselves to be in.To give over your "weight " to that which offers it's support to you. Sometimes we covet the pain we are in and are resitant to give it up,to give it over so that it can be taken down the river, to be washed away transmuted and /or tramsformed..The curious thing is that alot of the seemingly easiest things we could do for ourselves seems to be the hardest for us initiate, until we learn that true living is about simplicity in all things, cutting the "fat " out of our lives and living by the essential ingredients whcih are all that is necessary. Anyway that's all I have to say now .Nothing big but nothing little as well.Love.
Foot Reflexology is a healing art with it's origins in ancient India,China and other cultures. The feet are mini-maps of the entire body system, the body in microcosm.Foot Reflxology helps to condition, replenish and and de-stress the entire system.
The moon is full. The August wind, that breath of God which tumbles ,rolls and twists onto the earth. The ancient world being stirred from the many centuried sleep.Ancestors awaken now.The voice of the Mother arises under foot of each being. The four-leggeds and the two-leggeds are now knowing what it is,what it is all about. What they know of the Great Unity. The circle. The circle states how we speak, how we walk the walk, how we pass the talking stick to one another and listen to what each has to say in their turn.I turn away from human made divisions and instead watch the trek of the sun from horizon to horizon.
The other day I was wondering about the animal world and how they perceive their lives.Specifically I was wondering if they require or have constructed ways of "measuring" their days in which thay move through. What I mean to say is that we as humans think of our yesterdays, what we had or had not done, our futures, our plans hopes and wishes and our present here and now moments, where ideally it would be to our greatest advantage to be living in.We also have created a 365 day calender and a 24 hour way of measuring time.
