Dragonflys and other good things

Hi all & blessings, Yesterday I was standing on the top of Lavender's hill at Freya Farm. From this space you can see quite a panoramic view of the Adirondacks. The leaves on the trees are beginning to color up really beautifully.

Happy Equinox

Hi All there is a nip in the air this morning! signs of fall are every where. As I look out My window I see two huge orange pumpkins growing in my neighbor's garden.
As you celebrate the coming of fall remember to thank the earth for all her abundant harvest that she so graciously shares!

more meanderings

The corn trucks continue to roll. The sky is blue and the air is crisp and the apple trees are bending with the ripe red fruit! I am preserving and canning and I feel good about it. I haven't made jam in years and years as I only knew how to make it with sugar...I finally researched and gathered together the components for sugar free jam making and tomorrow afternoon that will be my project...

Hi all,
Enjoyed the call this am despite the static. I jumped off and got on to the computer to post something I could feel good about myself (RE: Moose) and all of a sudden can't think of a thing! Funny how that happens...

a meander through the cornfields of my mind.....:)

I have enjoyed watching the corn grow. Around my house and around the area there are many beautiful corn fields. The dairy farmers grow massive amounts to feed the cows. Early in May I remember driving by a field in Argyle with a friend from New York. I was commenting to her about the tiny stalks They were about 3 inches long all planted in neat rows. She said "that tiny stuff is corn"???

Tomorrow morning (on the east coast) we have a powerful new moon...a good time to do a ritual and set some intentions for what you want to accomplish this month. Saturn along with Jupiter is in the picture with this Virgo moon...so a great time to start up those projects you have been wanting to get to...:)Guidance has been indicating that lots of door ways and opportunity's will be available...This new moon gives us a boost to grab on to the opportunities and get going! :)

Animal totems of the week

Yesterday while I was driving home from the farm stand, I saw two young foxes playing in the brush by the side of the road. I seldom see fox in th day time let a lone two. I decided that fox was my totem for the week. Camouflage; "wily fox has many allies in the woodlands, including the foliage, which offers protection and much medicine. Fox is seemingly able to vanish amidst the lush undergrowth of the forest. This flora is fox's ally. The ability to meld into one's surroundings an be unnoticed is a powerful gift when one is observing the activities of others."

olympics 2008

The Olympics is over today- did you all see it?
I do not have TV- so it was funny to find my self in places with TV's during the Olympics. I watched some of it. I didn't see the opening ceremonies which were said to be quite something...I did hear on the radio in the barn that the opening ceremonies were digitally remastered..so that of all the millions who watched it on TV saw it all changed...hmmmm....It is amazing what can be left out--so that we get the "picture" that someone wants us to see.

from the Tao Te Ching

verse from a translation of the Tao Te Ching. :)

Verse 15

The masters of this ancient path
are mysterious and profound
Their inner state baffles all inquiry
Their depths go beyond all knowing
