The Humanity of the Animals

They stretch and crawl and roll up into furry balls of fur. They roar and bark, swim, sing, take wing and snore. They are the four-leggeds,the finned ones and the ones who fly. They are our guides and companions and the wild things in the big wilderness.Animals, fish, insects and birds are the messengers from the great spirit sent here to help us remember our humanity, for many of us have fallen asleep and have been distracted by our self-created techno-world taking the place of our instincts and making life all too deadly and deadeningly "easy" for us.Push-button-push-button.
The love and playfullness our domestic ones show us.They are the soul of the very best of Mother Earth. One of our original instructions from the Great Spirit assigned us humans to be the stewards of the earth. To care,to listen, and not to dominate, but to co-operate.
Let us learn how to swim like the fish,to have a birds-eye-view of each situation.Like a bird on the wing, roar like the lion, love unconditionally like the dog, learn how to be as agile as the monkey. Are they not great teachers. We can learn how to act naturally and without pretention,to move efficiently and with intention,to never give up as the hunters of our dreams, like our feline friends pursue their prey with patience, observation and focus.Let's not now be blinded by what we think is real.Look to mother and her children to show us the way.Bryn Durham
