Ram Dass

I recently came across the video titled "Ram Dass Fierce Grace" in the 'new' section of my public library. I found it quite good. Although I had read his book "Be Here Now" I learned things about this man I never knew. He was previously a Harvard Professor and experimented in phychedelics along with Timothy Leary. He later went to India where he became enlightened. Anyway, the movie portrays him as he is recovering from a stroke. It is enlightening and heartbreaking. I highly recomend this movie for all.

Hey Patti, I have not seen that one, I will keep an eye out for it on net flicks. Since I joined net flicks I have seen a lot more movies on DVD. Last evening I saw a really good movie called "The Girl in The Cafe".
The gist of the film is this, a lonley civil servent, Lawerence meets a woman in a cafe when, do to a lack of empty tables he sits at a table occupied by another lonely figure, Gina. Lawerence ends up taking Gina to the G8 summit in Reykjavik, Iceland. Here Gina confronts the Prime Minister of the UK over issues of world poverty, much to the embaressment of Lawerence and the anger of his employers. He realizes that she is right and also tries to convince them...that they can actually do something at this summet, besides, compromise..
It is a good film, rather "quiet" seeming a bit surreal as two shy people are dealing with a budding romance juxtiposed against the Neagotiatins of 8 world powers, dryly and diplomaticaly moving around $ figures that could save peoples lives...by the way the US delegates are protrayed as the "ugly Americans" rather too close to home these days!

Blessings in the light
