Bees

25Jul2010

Yesterday I spent the day at a bee conference. The VBA Vermont Bee keepers association, held their semi annual meeting in Dorset, VT which is just over the border from where I live in upstate New York. As I listened to the speakers I, once again, was awed by the presence of bees in our world. What an incredible, giving species honey bees are.
Not only do they pollinate making it possible to continue the growth of much of our crops and flowers on the earth, but they make and give us the gift of honey. It is only our greed, and imbalances that have affected the health and lives of these beautiful creatures. Their colonies die out because of a myriad of reasons, pollution, poor agriculture decisions, chemicals, generically altered plants....I admire the bee keepers that are seeking to be more aware of how to support and strengthen the honey bees, with out using more chemicals. Support your local bee keepers! :) and send love and gratitude to the Honey Bees!

Bees

Yes the bees are a beautiful race, demonstrating the art of loyalty, singlemindedness and commitment to the whole. They are the strong, vital and essential link to our food supplies. They give us joy and wonder in the act of their pollination process and the site of their colorful bodies flying from flower to flower
If we remain blind to this reality ,putting profit, greed and domination in front of all else, we will be the doomed race,I believe. To paraphrase a Native American saying,"We are but a strand in the Great Web of Life. What we do to the Web we do to ourselves."
Where is the wisdom in humanity in this so-called civilized age.? God Bless Humanity in it's awakening process.Aho.
