joy in the moment

I recieved an e-mail from Andre the other day. It contained beautiful photographs from some yong students in New Orleans. Sometimes it is challenging to find joy in the moment especially when things around you are difficult. When I hear stories of Buddhist Monks and Nuns in jail undergoing terriable tortures I marvel at their faith and connectedness. Some days when I am not feeling well or when i have heard of the terriable situations of people or animals on this planet I have to work hard to find my connection again. Andre has been teaching students in the Air Port communities...He has been teaching the kids to look through the cameras and find something beautiful... below are some of his words and one of the students photos that I found truly powerful!
"Its been tough working with
these kids in the airport villages , but slowly I see
and feel more light. People just do not expect good
things to happen in their lives. I finally have a core
of maybe 6 or 8 kids who are getting it! and finally
having more fun."

Ok I cannot get the image to come up on the page....so I will just have to leave it and come back to it another time
May you find Joy in the moment
