Greetings, As I read the blog about filling the bird feeders and feeding the squirrls I not could help but be reminded of my efforts to take care of our animal friends. There continues to be a faint reminder of this throughout my room. I thought I was doing a good deed by throwing dried corn cobs into the back yard at my new roomates home. They had been in a plastic bag on the back porch since fall. Well, needless to say it wasn't just the squirrls who were hungry. That night my dog Jupiter took off like a flash into the yard and came back just as quickly. His eyes wild and foaming at the mouth. The smell was horrendus. Not quite the impression of a "good dog" I wanted to give my new roomie. Mike was gracious about it all and produced a small can of V-8. It got us through the night along with alot of candle burning and smudging. I wondered what message skunk had for me. Attraction, distraction or time for a good through cleaning. I know one thing for sure, from now on, I will be only feeding the squirrls at the park down near the river.
